Instant Winter

Yesterday it was slight frostiness over elevated areas… maybe a wee sprinkiling of flakes over the last week… today it’s meter-high drifts and cancelled everything. No school, no work. Everyone stay home and hibernate.

I love snow days. I love the surprise holiday. I love the sudden necessity to put off all urgent things. I love the excuse to laze in bed until noon, or later, and the complete and utter lack of reasons to get out of my cozy pajamas. I love the big pancake or crepe breakfast, and the possibility that I could, if I so chose, just curl back up in bed with a book and a flashlight and not get out again until the next morning. I love how life grinds to a halt, and all the little relaxing things we’ve been putting off for weeks or months are suddenly the only sensible things to do.

  1. Glad that you too enjoyed your snow day. We had a fine day not moving from the the house. I wanted to let you know that I nominated you for a Liebster Blog Award. If you are not familiar with it, feel free to check out my latest post.
