NCECA, the National Council on Education in the Ceramic Arts, is coming up again soon. Last year it was in Tampa, Florida. Myself and about a gajillion other potters, ceramicists and gallerists descended on the city like a swarm of clay-obsessed locusts.
This year’s conferemce isn’t anywhere particularly warm–it’s in Seattle–but I’m still looking forward to the trip. I’ll be flying into Vancouver on the 23rd of March, and then taking the train down the following Sunday (because that was actually cheaper than a flight straight to Seattle, and also, I’ve never been to Vancouver and have wanted to see it for aaaaages). Then it’s clay non-stop for a few days, and home with a head full of ideas and knowledge, and an armload of tools and treasures.
Only a few more weeks….
Oh, it *will* be warmer. By the end of March, it’ll probably be between 5 and 15 degrees, without the kind of wind we have here, so it will feel quite lovely.
Enjoy the trip! If you can get out to the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby, I highly recommend it.
