Long Year

The second-last (I hope) bisque firing of gallery teacups is on today. I started work on this show in October, and it will be October before the show is up in the gallery. About a year of my life has gone into this. (More, if you count things like the amount of time it took to write the application, get it submitted, and tweak it so the committee liked it.)

It’s been a very intense year. My personal life has been in upheaval, I bought a house, I started my first gardens, I got a new cat, I helped organize two craft fairs. I participated in three fairs, and I’ve signed up for the big Christmas one. I had a trip to Vancouver and Seattle. I got to go to NCECA, and then had a bonus day of Emerald City Comic Con. I’ve started home renovations.

This year has had more milestones in it than grad school did. It’s been HARD. I’m proud of what I’ve accomplished, but I will also be very glad, sometime in December, when I can take a break.
