Thanks to the quick action of a certain itinerant beard, two surprise work surfaces showed up on my doorstep this morning! There’s an ex countertop, and one of those big hardwood pieces that used to go on top of dishwashers.
The former dishwasher top has been laid on top of the washing machine, and test-wedged upon. It is heavy enough that the wedging didn’t move it, and coincidentally an excellent height for me–better than the work tables at the clay studio, even. Yay!
The ex countertop, I think, can be attached to some sturdy pieces of scrap wood and turned into a small glazing table.
