Backgammon

DSCF3685

Me and Roz figured out how to play backgammon this week. We didn’t get into using the doubling cube, as we weren’t gambling, but we worked out the rest of it.

We talked a bit about what we would make if we were designing a board. I was thinking of clay counters, in very natural colours, totally unglazed. Just burnished. Maybe one white clay and one red clay, or smoke-fired. (Her idea was clay as well, but one side decorated with underglaze zebra print and one side fuchsia with god awful gold decals.)
